Some parents use mobile phones/wireless devices near babies because they believe it is safe and will not harm the baby. So it feels especially important and difficult to inform them that those devices may pose risks to their babies. Wireless devices such as smartphones can emit radio frequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMFs) that may threaten the developing brain.
Some studies have shown that babies may be more vulnerable to Electromagnetic Fields than any other age group. This is because,
- Babies have thinner skulls, which means that EMFs can penetrate their brains more easily.
- Their brains and nervous systems are not fully developed, and they are still learning how to process and respond to information. Electromagnetic Fields can disrupt this process and lead to problems with learning, behavior, and development.
- The conductivity level of a baby is higher than adults, due to greater moisture and higher ionic content. This means that they are more likely to absorb EMF radiation.
Long-term effects of EMFs on humans are just beginning to be discovered (as you can watch in the video below).
While more research is needed to determine any potential health effects of RF-EMF exposure on babies, it is really important to take precautions to reduce your baby’s exposure.
